Why create, in a world where everything eventually gets destroyed? Why care about adding beauty in a world where beauty exists only, apparently, to garner money or attention? Beauty has characteristics that raise our ability to enjoy life and the experience of living. To catch a sunset, to see a rose, to observe the galloping horse with its mane flying free in the wind-- beauty calls to mind our best life experiences. Beauty exists in the curve of an arm, the luster of a gem, the radiance of a happy face--and even in the twisted snarls of war, where a lone tree may stand out amidst the wreckage of cities. beauty is more than skin-deep. it reaches within. The lack of beauty is all around us--in ungainly and ugly designs, crude lampooning cartoons, carelessness in dress, hideous buildings without character or soul, pervading our lives and suffocating our senses.
Beauty can be wrested from the most sordid and unlikely sources.
Not seen on the internet before, here are a few new examples of my art for those not familiar with the inventory I have at Judyth Vary Baker Quality Investment Art. As always, to bring more beauty into the world is the goal. You are free to copy if you mention
the artist. You can obtain a signed photoprint for $30 (includes shipping) by going to the 'donation' box on this blog or to any of my
other blogs. Enjoy!
